چکیده
White-backed planthopper, Sogatella furcifera Horváth (Hemiptera: Delphacidae) is a migratory and serious pest of rice crop worldwide including Pakistan. The current experiment was carried out to assess the antixenosis antibiosis level fifteen genotypes against S. under greenhouse conditions. In studies, proportion nymphs adults settled recorded in relation control. Less preferred varieties by were RPP49 (3.80), N22 (5.60), IR 64 (6.20), 72 (6.60), Basmati Pak (6129) (5.40), Super (5.00) as compared TN1 (12.00). Lower number eggs laid on RPP49, N22, 64, PKBB 8. Based feeding marks ranked from highest lowest Pak. tests, IR64, 72, performed well TN1. Minimum rate (47.8 mm2) followed IR74, Pak, Basmati, 8, PK 10684 10436 TN1(470.8 mm2). results revealed that emerged new resistant source furcifera. have shown moderate resistance while are with which can be used breeding programs

Asymmetric Spread of SRBSDV between Rice and Corn Plants by the Vector Sogatella furcifera (Hemiptera: Delphacidae)
Plant viruses are mostly transmitted by sucking insects via their piercing behaviors, which may differ due to host plant species and their developmental stages. We characterized the transmission of a fijivirus, southern rice black-streaked dwarf virus (SRBSDV), by the planthopper vector Sogatella furcifera Horváth (Hemiptera: Delphacidae), between rice and corn plants of varying developmental s...
متن کاملAnalysis of Differential Proteins in Two Wing-Type Females of Sogatella furcifera (Hemiptera: Delphacidae)
Sogatella furcifera(Horvath) is an important rice pest with the wing dimorphism, including macropterous and brachypterous morphs. The protein expression profiles in two wing-type adults and two wing-type disc fifth-instar nymphs were analyzed using two-dimensional gel protein electrophoresis and mass spectrometry. In adults and fifth-instar nymphs, 127 and 162 protein spots were detected, respe...

The white-backed planthopper (WBPH), Sogatella furcifera (Horváth) is a serious pest causing grievous damage to rice plants. In the present study, inter-simple sequence repeats were employed to investigate the genetic diversity of 108 samples from 27 WBPH geographic populations in China. Ten primers were screened out with 147 amplified bands, average percentage of polymorphic bands, polymorphic...
متن کاملFeeding-induced interactions between two rice planthoppers, Nilaparvata lugens and Sogatella furcifera (Hemiptera: Delphacidae): effects on feeding and honeydew excretion.
A series of laboratory experiments was conducted using electrical penetration graph, salivary flange, and honeydew measurement to study the effects of feeding-induced intra- and interspecific interactions on feeding behavior and honeydew excretion between planthoppers Nilaparvata lugens (Stål) and Sogatela furcifera (Horváth). Feeding-induced intra- and interspecific interactions affected many ...
متن کاملMonitoring Trends in Insecticide Resistance of Field Populations of Sogatella furcifera (Hemiptera: Delphacidae) in Guizhou Province, China, 2012–2015
Sogatella furcifera (Horváth) is a migratory insect that is one of the most important pest species on rice in many Asian countries. Control of S. furcifera (Hemiptera: Delphacidae) primarily depends on the use of chemical insecticides, and with this extensive reliance on pesticides, determining the degree of resistance of S. furcifera populations to the chemicals used for its control is essenti...
